On the day of the procedure
We will schedule your eyelid surgery at a time that suits your agenda. The procedure can be performed in the evening or on the weekend if this is more convenient.
On the day of the procedure, you are greeted at reception and escorted to our reception area. Here you are given 2 forms to fill in: a treatment contract and a health-related questionnaire.
When it is your turn, the plastic surgeon will come to find you. Our medical team (a nurse, an operating theatre assistant and a plastic surgeon) explain each part of the procedure as they go along so you always know what to expect.
Immediately after lower eyelid surgery
Immediately after the procedure you relax in a reclining armchair with a cold gel eye mask on and are served a cup of tea and a rusk. You can go home about half an hour after the procedure. We ask you to ensure that someone is there to escort you. You are not permitted to drive.
The cold gel eye mask is most effective during the first 4 to 6 hours after the treatment. It helps to reduce swelling in the surrounding tissues.
You take the cold gel eye mask home with you, so you can continue to apply a cold compress to the area affected by the surgery. Above all, this helps you relax.
