Consultation Free Lower eyelid plasmage from € 950 Combination A Plasmage treatment of the lower eyelids can also be combined with an upper blepharoplasty. In that case, the Plasmage treatment takes place on the same day as the surgical procedure.Procedure In this video you can see a plasmage treatment of the lower eyelids. Treatment The Plasmage device uses a small needle tip. When the tip of the Plasmage needle is held above the skin, it creates a small stream of charged particles that then touch the skin. This process is comparable to the formation of a lightning bolt but on a very small and concentrated scale. When the plasma stream contacts the skin, tiny parts of the outer skin layer evaporate. This causes the skin fibers to contract, creating a tightening effect. Before the procedure, a local anesthetic is either injected or applied as a numbing cream, making the treatment well-tolerated. Treatment guidelines The skin must be prepped for at least 4 weeks with pigment-reducing ingredients. The procedure cannot be performed on tanned skin, including self-tanning products. Sun exposure should be avoided throughout the treatment process. The winter season is the best time for this treatment. No cold sores should be present on the day of the treatment. In this case, the appointment must be rescheduled. Both the recovery time and the results vary per person and treatment. After the procedure, the skin is extra sensitive for the first 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, it is essential to protect the skin daily from UV radiation (daylight). The following symptoms are common after treatment After the procedure, the skin may feel warm, and small pinpoint bleeding or wound fluid may occur. About an hour after the procedure, the anesthesia will wear off, and you may feel uncomfortable. Paracetamol can be used as needed. Keep the treated area as dry as possible on the day of the treatment. Cooling is not recommended unless combined with an upper blepharoplasty. Follow the advice of your treating plastic surgeon in this case. Apply the provided panthenol cream with a cotton swab before bedtime. The day after the treatment, the area can be cooled for 5-10 minutes every hour. Important: Contact us if the skin remains extremely swollen, red, itchy, or feels burning after 10 days. Aftercare The treated skin will completely regenerate, which may cause redness, swelling, dryness, and flaking. Recovery generally takes 7 to 10 days, after which the skin may remain slightly red and sensitive. Panthenol cream can be applied as needed using a cotton swab. We recommend sleeping slightly elevated for the first few days to minimize swelling in the treated area. A travel neck pillow can help with this. The skin is particularly prone to infection in the first few days. Use a clean pillowcase every night, work with clean hands or cotton swabs, and avoid touching your face as much as possible. Keep your face dry for the first 24 hours. After 24 hours, you may gently rinse the skin with water and pat it dry with tissues. Note: If combined with an upper eyelid correction, do not wet the area around the eyes. Clean the eye area with damp cotton swabs instead. After 3 to 5 days, the scabs will start to fall off, and the new skin must be protected from harmful UV rays. Use the specially developed VandenBroecke Kliniek scar cream with SPF 20 for protection. Do not pick at the scabs, as this can cause scarring. If you tend to scratch during the night, sleep with hydrophilic cloths around your hands and keep your nails short. Avoid using stimulating or specialized skincare products until the scabs and redness have completely disappeared. Apply sunscreen regularly when exposed to UV rays for up to 6 weeks post-treatment. When can I resume regular skin care? You can typically resume your regular skincare routine after 10 to 14 days, depending on how well your skin tolerates the products. We recommend waiting to use makeup until the skin has fully regenerated, i.e., after all scabs have fallen off. The result The initial results are often visible once the scabs have fallen off. However, the best results are seen after approximately 2–3 months, as collagen stimulation continues to work after the treatment. Other treatments Upper blepharoplastyAn upper blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure in which excess skin above the eyelids, possibly in combination with underlying muscle and fat tissue, is removed. Lower blepharoplastyThe removal of sagging skin under the eyes, possibly combined with the partial removal and/or repositioning of underlying muscle and fat tissue, is referred to as a lower blepharoplasty. Eyebrow liftLow-set eyebrows can give you a gloomy appearance and cause a tired, pressing sensation around your eyes. This can be resolved with a brow lift. Midface liftYou can see a midface lift as an extended lower blepharoplasty. In a midface lift, in addition to addressing under-eye bags, the skin beneath the tear trough is also tightened. Ptosis correctionIf the levator muscle in the upper eyelid does not function properly, it causes a drooping eyelid. This condition is called ptosis and can be corrected with a ptosis correction, also known as levatorplasty. Lower eyelid plasmage Are you bothered by wrinkles or under-eye bags but prefer not to undergo a surgical lower eyelid correction? Then plasmage might be an option for you.
