Internal and external audits form the basis for maintaining and, where possible, improving the quality of every aspect of our care. Medical specialists Not every doctor performing eyelid surgery is a plastic surgeon. At VandenBroecke Kliniek, however, the procedures are always done by plastic surgeons. Plastic surgery is a 6-year medical specialization. Our plastic surgeons are, of course, registered with the BIG (Dutch Healthcare Professionals Act) and each has many years of experience in eyelid surgery. The BIG sets rules for professional practice with the aim of promoting and safeguarding the quality of practice and protecting patients from incompetent and careless actions by healthcare professionals. The law includes safeguards such as title protection, registration, competence regulations, reserved actions, and disciplinary law.
