Dr. Martine van Huizum From 1991 to 1998, I studied medicine at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) in Amsterdam. I then completed my specialization in plastic surgery at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam in 2004. I was on staff at Erasmus MC for about a year and a half before returning to Amsterdam in mid-2007 to work at the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek (AVL). There, I operate on patients immediately after surgery by the oncological surgeon or after they have recovered from oncological treatment. The challenge is always to strike the best possible balance between a quick recovery and a good quality of life for the patient. I began working at VandenBroecke Kliniek in 2015. It’s wonderful to be able to focus on eyelid surgery. At VandenBroecke Kliniek, I work with a team of dedicated plastic surgeons to uphold a high standard of quality.
